Dale A. DeCarlo, age 74, of Gowanda, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Autumn View Palliative Care Unit in Hamburg.
Born in Gowanda on October 12, 1951, Dale was the son of Joseph and Helen (Mikluscak) DeCarlo. He married Deborah Geil, who predeceased him in 2018.
Dale retired from West Valley Nuclear Services Co., where he worked as a Senior Specialist. His career spanned 29 years, and he retired in 2017. He was also a proud 50-year member of the Gowanda Volunteer Fire Department, serving in several leadership roles including President, Secretary, and board member. Dale remained deeply committed to community service throughout his life, including seven years of service on the Gowanda Village Board. He was also a member of the Slovenian Club.
Dale is survived by his sons, Anthony DeCarlo of Gowanda and Joseph (Shannon) DeCarlo of Boston, NY; and his grandson, Ian DeCarlo. He is also survived by his siblings: Bill (Jane) Fedor of Perrysburg, Len (Pam) DeCarlo of New Wilmington, PA, and Jim (Paula) DeCarlo of Grosse Pointe, MI; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Deborah.
Dale will be remembered for his community dedication, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.
