Jeanette K. Peglowski, age 93, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born in Gowanda on February 6, 1932, Jeanette was the daughter of John and Marian (Ribbel) Krebs. She married Frank A. Peglowski on June 1, 1963, and the two shared 45 years of marriage until his passing in 2008.
Jeanette devoted more than 30 years of service to New York State, spending her career in various administrative roles. She worked at the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center, in the business office at Gowanda Central School District, and later at the Gowanda Correctional Facility. Her dedication, reliability, and professionalism were well known to all who worked alongside her.
A lifelong and active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Gowanda, Jeanette served on numerous committees and worked in the church office for many years. Her faith and her community were central parts of her life.
Jeanette is survived by her children: Tracy (Pamela) Peglowski of York, NY; Tarie (Robert) Dahn of Fredonia; Tina (Gary) Kwiatkowski of Collins; John (Mary) Peglowski of Gowanda; and William Peglowski, also of Gowanda. She was a proud grandmother to Trisha (Brian) Pangrazio, Lindsey (Eddie) Ruffo, Justin (George Roewer) Peglowski, Robert Dahn Jr., Christian “CJ” (Teagan) Peglowski, Trevor Peglowski, Marah (Eric) Dahnczyk, Erin (Eirik) Moore, Bre (Joe) Gardon, Casey Peglowski, and Sara (Shawn) Klager. Her great-grandchildren—Jacob, Brody, Jaylynn, Emma, Hudson, and Dawson—brought her tremendous joy.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; her sister, Joan Karr; and her step-daughter, Susan Peglowski.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her warm spirit, and her unwavering devotion to her family, her church, and her community.
